Drop In Dance Winnipeg began in the summer of 2017, born from a love of dance and a desire to create more opportunities for movement in our city. At the time, I was looking for a way to keep dancing as an adult—something that wasn’t about competition or strict rules, just the pure joy of moving. Dance became my outlet, my anchor, especially after losing my dad. What started as a personal passion quickly became something bigger: a welcoming space where people could dance, connect, and grow.
In the early days, I cleaned studios in exchange for studio space, just so I could keep dancing and teaching. Word spread, and soon, others were asking to join. We started running classes out of NAFRO Dance Productions from Fall 2017 to early 2019, slowly building a community of dancers who wanted a space that felt good—one where they could be themselves. In 2019, we took a leap and opened our own brick & mortar, creating a home for everyone who loves dance, no matter their experience level.
At Drop In Dance Winnipeg, we believe dance should be fun, accessible, and free from pressure. Our studio is for everyone—whether you're an experienced dancer or just starting out, whether you want to refine your skills or simply move for the joy of it. We’re here to help you build confidence, find connection, and experience the art of dance in a way that feels good to you.
Life is busy, and finding time for yourself can be tough. That’s why we keep things simple—no rigid dress codes, no competitive pressure, just great classes and a welcoming community. Dance is more than movement; it’s a form of self-expression, a way to de-stress, and an opportunity to meet people who share the same love for it.
Whether you're dropping in for a single class or making dance a regular part of your life, we’re here to support you. Come as you are, find your rhythm, and be part of a studio that celebrates movement in all its forms.
Can’t wait to dance with you!
